He was adopted by James Edward Ellington and Daisy Kennedy Ellington. Loved playing the piano and lots of other instruments. 4/16/2017 1921 duke Finished Armstrong technical high school. Duke began with his band playing at a café. But later moved up scale to play at a bar. So This was the beginning of Duke Ellington. 4/16/2017 1932 Duke Ellington playing at the Colorado Institutional Club.This is the first concert his parents visited. Also this was when Roderick Kent gave duke a shot on a contract.At the first try out duke used the most musical instruments. 4/16/2017 1946 Duke Ellington was given a chance to act. In those three years duke received around 2.5 million dollars. Also even after the acting duke still received some money later. Since then duke was given another chance in 1952 to act again but he refused.  4/16/2017 These were the last years of Duke Ellington. Duke Played His favorite song before he died. Played piano , bass , and flute.Loved to play jazz music,And made a lot of loot.He died at 1974 and was buried in Washington DC.
