Addition Addition means to supply necessary words in translation, making the version grammatically correct, semantically clear, rhetorically sound, logically acceptable, and culturally appropriate. Three aspects to cover Structural addition (结构性增补) Semantic addition（语义性增补） Rhetorical addition （修辞性增补） Structural addition English : omission, substitution Chinese: repetition What is omitted or substituted in English may be supplied in the Chinese translation.
