A Brief Study on British Industrial Revolution Abstract: Industrial Revolution was an important breakthrough from handicraft production at workshop to big machine industrial production at factory. Indeed, it was a significant transition in the capitalism history. Britain was the first country that Industrial Revolution occurred and a country that Industrial Revolution and its consequence completely displayed their characters. This paper will focus on the major elements which caused the Industrial revolution and its effects. Key words：Britain, Industrial Revolution, impetus, effects The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840. Dramatic changes in the social and economic structure took place as inventions and technological innovations created the factory system of large-scale machine production and greater economic specialization, and as the laboring population, formerly employed predominantly in agriculture in which production had also increased as a result of technological improvements, increasingly gathered in great urban factory centers. I. Causes in Britain i. Internal causes Britain was the earliest country to begin industrial revolution, the first to accomplish it, and to realize capitalist industrialization. Geographical and natural resource advantages of Great Britain made a great contribution to this event. Britain had extensive coast lines and many navigable rivers in an age where water was the easiest means of transportation and having the highest quality coal in Europe. The superior natural condition, therefore, lay a solid foundation for the Industrial Revolution. On the other hand, the reason of the Industrial Revolution, first occurred in Britain, is closely related to the unique psychological cultural element of the British people.And the psychological power has had the intense action to the English economy growth.Resid
