Job Description Primary Function: To perform all technical and supervisory operational duties at the wellsite or alternatively the office as required during drilling periods. Initiate post-well operations in the office. Job Description Specific Duties: Perform stringent QC procedures on all wellsite data, including electric log and MWD data (if no wireline specialist is present), before it is released from the wellsite. Daily QC of the database ensuring that all pertinent fields are accurately filled. Evaluate all cuttings samples for lithology character, reservoir character and hydrocarbon shows. Provide real-time liaison and briefings of wellsite developments with the operations centre geological and drilling personnel. During periods of wellsite operations produce a comprehensive suite of reports and a lithology capturing all pertinent data generated at the wellsite, and communicate it to the operations centre. Job Description Specific Duties (2) During the drilling of horizontal sections, closely monitor planned, actual and projected well paths while paying close attention to expected and actual lithological and real-time MWD data in order that advice for modified well trajectories can be input at the earliest opportunity. Supervise and coordinate all geology related Service Company wellsite staff during drilling operations. First pass verification of geology specific contractor invoices; specifically wireline, LWD and mudlogging invoices. Ensure that the terms of geology specific contracts are adhered to at the wellsite.
