But comparatively, the Chinese banks were much less affected. As the cost of mergers and acquisitions (MA) declined, and this financial turmoil worsened, MA in banking industry are constantly becoming a trend. This article is set against a background of financial crisis,research the performance and risk of China Merchants Bank Mergers and acquisitions Wing Lung Bank, figure out the merger and acquisition strategies, motivation, strengths and weaknesses, reference experience MA for the future of Chinas banking industry. It was found out that China Merchants Bank considered the macro economic environment, the Wing Lung Bank Location competitive advantage, synergistic effect after MA. In financial risk,MA costs expensive, financial pressure in short-term, but in the long term will have a good synergistic effect. In integrated risk, MA promoted the expanding of operation scale, complementary advantages, enhance the comprehensive strength. But the aspects of enterprise culture, business services, personnel exchanges exist complexity. So it has some difficult in management. Finally, this research has made the corresponding conclusion: MA need to seize the opportunities, accumulate the successful experience, control the management risk, from the close to the distant.
