Mor eover , t he mut ant showed dwarf , lat er heading and lower fertilit y t han wild plant s . The size of epider mi s cell s wa s different bet ween near side and st arboar d cell s ob served f rom t he longit udinal section of t wi st ed st ems by hi stological section s. Genetic analy si s showed t hat t he mut ant wa s cont rolled by a single recessive gene . The tst a mut ant wa s not induced by TDN A in sertion t hough it wa s screened in TDN A in sert ed mut ant pool s . Therefore , t he mut ant gene could not be i solat ed by TDN A t agging met hod .
