Causes of Image distortion in the scanning process w ere analyzed, and map- ping transformation for the focus posit ions was used. A dynamic focusing syst em based on the PCI bus control technique was developed. Then it was installed in a select ive laser melting ( SLM) machine. The tests results show that the developed dynamic focusing system can adapt to the SLM processing.
