Shang hai D ianj i Univ e rs i y , Shang hai 2 24 , Ch ina) Abstract: T he fanshaped sliding bush of thrust bearing w as investigated. Adopting cylindrical coordi nates to discrete the tw odimensional Reynolds equation, the dimensionless expressions of loading capa city, generating heat, oil flow rates, and temperature rising w ere obtained. By using of the numerical com putation, the influence of structure parameters, such as the ratio of bush heights, ratio of length to w idth, and bush numbers on the lubrication properties of the thrust bearings w ere investigated. A method to determine the optimum structure parameters of thrust bearing w as proposed, w hich is helpful to design the thrust bearing .
