A S , A S , , . : , , , , : F301. 2 Set Features Analysing and Signification of Land Classification Zhang Yaoping Zeng Xuegui ( Department of Ci il Engineering, Northern Jiaotong Un i ersity, Beijing 100044) Abstract: This paper takes the national land as set A in w hich the firstclass elements are the 27 pro inces( autonomous regions) and 3 municipalities directly under the Central Go ernment, the secondclass elements are cities/ subpro incial administrati e regions, the thirdclass elements are counties/ districts, the fourthclass elements are counties/ tow ns, the fifthclass elements are illages and the sixthclass elements are land unitele ments ; it also takes the eight firstclass and fourtysix secondclass classifications of landuse and some thirdclass classifications of city and railw ay as the elements of land use classification set S. Both set A and set S ha e the minimal element and singularity , and the intersection set of the primiti e elements of set A and set S can uniquely deter mine the property or classification of a land unit, thus the mathematical model and set expression of land classification are established , w hich pro ide the foundation and means for the creation of land classification system and its computerizing.
