They saw a man break the shop window and steal all the watches. They ran after him, because they took him for a thief. Textual analysis Cohesive devices a. the use of the definite article on second mention; b. the substitution of pronouns for nouns; c. the use of conjunction. Lexical cohesion: steal with thief; jeweler’s shop with watches. Textual analysis A: See who that is. B: I’m in pyjamas. A: OK.
