Baltimore County Public Schools 104,714 students 3rd largest school system in Maryland 25th largest school system in the nation (based on fall 2004 enrollment) 171 schools, centers, and programs (including 103 elementary schools, 27 middle schools, 24 high schools, 11 centers, 4 special education schools, and 2 programs) 17,000 employees, including 8,850 classroom teachers BCPS and Diversity BCPS and Diversity BCPS Office of Mathematics PreK-12 Secondary Team Provides services to 60 secondary schools and centers Develops district-wide curriculum and assessments for 30+ courses Works closely with site-based leaders (department chairmen) to monitor the taught curriculum Works to build leadership capacity What do we know?
