It was a delicious chocolate cake topped with icing. I must say it even made my mouth water. Thinking back it was the occasion of my best friends graduation. He was over the moon at getting his degree and that weekend had organized a big party to celebrate his success. I can remember that I had spent the afternoon shopping for the ingredients and then rushing home to my kitchen to bake the cake. I know I made a bit of a mess of the kitchen. I’m not a good cook but I know how to bake a cake. I must admit that the kitchen ended up with flour and eggshells strewn around but I knew I could bring it off. But I must admit the aroma of the cake baking in the oven was heavenly. Once the cake was out of the oven and cooled I iced it and put it in a big box and tied a ribbon in the university’s colours around the box. When I gave my friend the cake he jumped for joy. I knew chocolate cake was his favourite and as soon as it was opened he couldn’t wait to stuff his mouth with the gooey confection. I’m just surprised he didn’t throw up.
