Know about China’s fine traditional cultures by watching the video clip of Chinese porcelain. 教 学 设 计 教学环节 教师活动安排与建议 (一)Lead-in Read the quote related to the topic of “Food and culture.” By reading the quote, students are getting to know the theme of the unit. (二)Telling apart Help students practice the pronunciation of the phonetic sounds: /?://au/, /?//??/, /??//e?/, /k//g/, /j//d?/. Read the proverbs and sayings and practice the tongue twister. Play the recording and ask students to read aloud. Ask students to practice each group of sounds and words in small groups or individually. When they are practicing, correct their pronunciation if necessary. For more exercises, please see Optional exercises in Teacher’s Book. (三)Testing your ears Read new words, phrases and expressions in Word bank. Listening exercises: simple sentences and short conversations. Watch a video clip titled “Automatic Restaurant”. Explain each new word or phrase with examples which have presented in PPT.
