WSDOT SOP 7321 Volumetric Design for Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) 1. Scope 1.1 This standard for mix design evaluation uses aggregate and mixture properties to produce a hot-mix asphalt (HMA) job-mix formula. The mix design is based on the volumetric properties of the HMA in terms of the air voids (V ), voids in the mineral aggregate (VMA), and voids a filled with asphalt (VFA). 1.3 This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment.
