There are many famous athletes, but only part of them can be called “living legends”. In this part, two famous athletes will be introduced to the students. The students will not only know more about their excellent skills, but also get inspired by their characters. 教学目标与核心素养 Knowledge objectives: The students will learn something about two famous athletes. Skill objectives: The students will get insight into writing skills about how to describe a person. Emotional objectives: The students will get inspired by the two famous athletes’ characters, such as determination and perseverance. Thinking quality objectives: The students will be inspired to think more about how to promote their own all-round development. 重点 Enable students to find details about the two famous athletes. 2. Strengthen students’ speaking ability in describing a famous person. 难点 Let students analyze the writing skills of the passage. 教学过程 教学环节 教师活动 设计意图 Step 1 Warming up Lead the students to enjoy a video about Lang Ping’s achievements. Ask them to think: Do you think Lang Ping is a legend? Activate students and arouse their interest in this period. Step 2 Leading-in Let the students think about the different meanings of “legend”. Help students have a better understanding of the theme of the writing. Step 3 Pre-reading Look at the titles and pictures. Let the students make a prediction about the content of the text. Get the students to have a brief understanding of the passage. Step 4 While-reading Task 1 Read the lines above the picture. What are the two criteria(标准) for living legends?
