Teaching procedures Step1 Revision Let some Ss tell the story of Yu Gong moves a mountain. Step 2 New words Look at the pictures and learn about the new words. 1.object n.物体 2.tail n.尾巴 3.stick n.棍;条 4.excite v.是激动;是兴奋 5.western adj.西方的 2.Work in pairs and recite the new words. Step 3 Warming-up 1.Look at the pictures and answer the questions. 1. Who are they? 2.In which book are they the main characters? 3.Which character da you like best? Step 4 Reading 1.Read the article in 3a quickly and try to find the answers to the questions: Which book is talked about? Who is the main character? What is he like? Ss read the article quickly and try to answer the questions: Tell the students the reading strategy. Ss find the answers quickly according to the reading strategy. Choose some Ss to check the answers. Ss read 3a again and answer : What can the Monkey King do? What can’t the Monkey King do? Work in pairs and check the answers.
