This paper explores the peering behavior of distinct types of autonomous systems from the 计 w perspective of revenues and costs. The distribution of interdomain traffic volumes and the peering preferences of autono- mous systems are analyzed through the data samples in PeeringDB, with the presence of strong correlations between peer- w ing policies and interdomain traffic volumes of NSP and access providers, while there is no such correlation for content w providers, which mainly adopts policy of open peering. It illuminates the motivation based on the properties of these ser- vice providers under commercial circumstance, and presents autonomous system as an ecosystem, in which network struc- ture, interdomain traffic and revenues are mutually affected.
