The purpose of these guidelines is to provide prospective applicants with information to support an application for funding under the NMML After Hours Targeted Incentive Grants.BackgroundAfter hours primary care is accessible and effective care for people whose health condition is urgent and cannot wait for treatment when regular services are next available. Improving the provision of after hours care for all Australians, regardless of where they live, is one of the main objectives in the Australian Government’s National Health Reform. Medicare Locals have been given a major role in implementing the Australian Government’s objectives in after hours care.For the purposes ofthe NMML After Hours Targeted Incentive Grants the after hours period is defined as: before 8:00am and after 6:00pmweekdays;before 8:00am and after 12:00pmSaturday; andall daySunday.The after hours period can be further catego
