You have joined a distinguished, award-winning band.? I am delighted to have you as a member.? In the La Grange Middle School Band, we strive to have an environment where all members of the band are included.? No student is left behind.? This booklet is intended to let you know how things will work in our band.? Please take the time to look through it and to complete the information forms on the back pages.? Sincerely yours:? David M. DeLuca, Band DirectorLa Grange Middle School CLASS PROCEDURES ALL INSTRUMENTS AND FOLDERS GO HOME EVERY DAY. YOUR GRADE WILL BE AFFECTED IF YOU DO NOT TAKE YOUR MATERIALS HOME EVERY DAY. The director will begin instruction by standing on the conductor’s podium. Students must refrain from talking or otherwise disturbing the class during instruction. Band instruments are to be stored in the Band Hall. Band instruments will not be stored in school buildings other than the Band Hall. Students are not to bring food, candy, gum, or drinks into the Band Hall at any time, including before and after school. Instruments and folders are to be stored in assigned lockers with the padlocks LOCKED. No other items may be kept in the lockers. Percussionists are required to own the proper drumsticks and mallets. These sticks must be brought to class each day. Students’ names are to be clearly marked on instrument cases. Locks are to be locked on the lockers at all times, INCLUDING DURING CLASS. Lunch detention and other consequences may be assigned to students who fail to lock their lockers. A replac
