In a rapidly changing technology and communications sector, there is a need to study the factors that may result in good or bad performance, since identifying these factors could lead to improvements in the work environment. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of job characteristics on self-efficacy and job performance. Moreover, the study aimed at testing the effect of self-efficacy on job performance. The methodology consisted of a self-administered survey design where questionnaires were distributed to a convenience sample of 279 employees working with corporations listed in technology and communication sector in Amman Stock Exchange. Structural Equation Modeling was the statistical technique utilized to examine if the collected data supported the researcher’s proposed model. The results found support for the proposed model, indicating that all dimensions of job characteristics, including skill variety, task identity, task
