References Introduction The United States of America is a constitutional federal republic including fifty states and a federal district. Along with the rapid growth of the country, the external expansion and aggression proceeded on for more than a century, resulting in the United States of the present size. The Spanish-American War and World War I confirmed the nations status as a military power. In 1945, the United States emerged from World War II as the first country with nuclear weapons, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, and a founding member of NATO. In the post–Cold War era, the United States is the only remaining superpower—accounting for approximately 50% of global military spending—and a dominant economic, political, and cultural force in the world. The United States has possessed the highest gross domestic product (GDP), the most powerful military and the most advanced science and technology after World War II. The United States has been the richest and most powerful nation in the world. Nowadays, America is always being criticized for being arrogant and for being too powerful. Is the United States really a dangerous superpower to the world? How can America be a super country for so many years? The answer is in its larger economy, advanced tech
