Course structure: Class participation 20% Group presentation 30% Final examination 50% Class Participation According to school policy, You must attend at least 30% of the classes- failure to do so, I will cancel your right of taking the final exam. Medical certificates must be provided if you are not able to attend a class without incurring a penalty. Students are expected to arrive on time, and not to leave until the class ends. If you have a recurring problem that makes you late, or forces you to leave early, please keep me informed. Participation in class discussion is strongly encouraged and will be awarded with extra marks. Group presentation Starting for week 3, there will be 2 groups doing their presentation at the beginning of the each class. These 2 groups will be chosen randomly and given the topics for the presentation at the end of the previous class. Each group consists with 4 students. The length of group presentation is 2 mins for each group member, 8mins in total. Time management is important, therefore, no group should presented over 10 mins, poor time management skill could result in poor marks. The topic will cover knowledge from previous lectures. Final examination 1.30 hours Open-book exam Students will only allow to bring the textbook into the exam room. However, not all answers can be found directly in the textbook.
