模型之间的薪酬水平及薪酬满意度的关系外文翻译 MODELING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PAY LEVEL AND PAY SATISFACTION The relationship between pay level and pay satisfaction was modeled in a field study with 456 employees of nursing departments in a large hospital. After controlling for person, job, and pay system characteristics, pay satisfaction variance was better explained by treating pay level as a power function rather than a linear function. This result was expected given the low wage rate relative to the market, the lack of a formal rewards system, and the high level of tenure in the workforce. Implications of this finding for theory, research, and practice were discussed. Many criteria are used by organizations to gauge the effectiveness of their compensation plans. These criteria include improved performance,compliance with laws and regulations, cost reduction, and contribution to the strategic plans Hills, Bergmann, Scarpello, 1994;Gomez-Mejia, 1992. Employee attitudes are also used to gauge the effectiveness of compensation plans. Attitudes are important to gauging compensation plan effectiveness because it is believed that they can be used to predict important organizational outcomes. This is certainly the case for pay satisfaction which has been shown to be related to attendance, turnover, and union vote Heneman, 1985. Because pay satisfaction is related to important organizational out-comes, a considerable amount of research has been devoted to predicting and explaining pay satisfaction. A consistent finding in the literature is that there is a positive relationship between pay level and pay satisfaction Heneman, 1985. Actual pay can be used, therefore, by researchers and administrators to explain and predict pay satisfaction. In order to model the precise relationship between pay level and pay satisfaction,however, care must be taken to consider characteristics of the person and job Lawler, 1971 and pay system administration Dyer Theriault,1976 which may also influence pa
