Her family lived on a homestead, Ivy Green,[3] that Helens grandfather had built decades earlier.[4] Helens father, Arthur H. Keller,[5] spent many years as an editor for the Tuscumbia North Alabamian and had served as a captain for the Confederate Army.[4] Helens paternal grandmother was the second cousin of Robert E.
