DPN has also been reported to yield adenosinediphosphate upon treatment with alkali (2). In contrast D o to the instability of oxidized DPN in alkali, reduced DPN is not influenced w by alkali. This is the reverse of the stability in acid, in which reduced n l o DPN is rapidly inactivated and the oxidized form is not affected (3).
