Teaching Plan Student: The fresh students of high school Teaching Content: Module1 unit2Home alone Teaching hour: One class hour(45mintutes) Teaching plan: I. Teaching Aims: Train students’ reading ability. Read the text to get the general idea of the text. Master the usages of some important words and phrases II. Teaching Main Points: Master the new words and phrases III. Teaching Difficult Points: Read and remember the new words and phrases. Improve students’ reading ability. IV. Teaching Methods: Communicative Method Task-based Method V. Teaching Aids: Multi-media player, the blackboard VI. Teaching Procedures: Step1 lead-in (5 minutes) Show them some pictures about video Growing Pains.(1minute) Then give them one minute to think about the question: If you were left alone, can you imagine what might happen? According to their answers, show them the pictures and add some other answers.(3 minutes) Tell them that we are going to learn the reading part of Unit2 Home alone and see what happened between parents and children. Step2 presentation (15minutes) Before--reading From Unit1, we have learnt two of the basic reading skills: skimming and scanning. In this unit, we are going to learn to how to read a play. Ask them three questions: Have you read an English play before? Do you know something about a play? Can you tell me something about that? Have students focus on the reading strategy of this unit, which is how to read a play. Ask students to express the play and its elements. According to the strategy, fill in the blanks. While--reading Fast readinggive them 5minutes to read this passage with three questions in the book. (1). who are the main characters in the play? (2). Why do parents get angry? (3). what really happened to their dog, Spot? Check the answers Ask them to read Act One of the play carefully and fill in form Ask them to read Act Two carefully and fill in form. Turn the book to page 24, finish partC1 and ask the students to check the answer
