Unit 6 Teaching plan It’s my great pleasure to be here and share my teaching ideas with you. Today I’d like to say my teaching plan from 7 aspects. Part 1 Analysis of the teaching material. It consists of 5 sections. First of all, the textbook I use is “English” for vocational school students, published by JiangSu Education Press, basic module book one. The basic module mainly provides students in the 1grade with basic language knowledge, skills as well as western culture when students are in grade 2and grade 3. The unit I take is Unit 6 “Go out and enjoy life”. The topic , which is about a place for hanging out is closely related to students’ daily life. After middle term examination, students will begin to study this unit. They not only have background knowledge but also are interested in this topic. The content of this unit is made up of 7 parts: They are warming-up, listening and speaking, reading and writing, language in use, real life skills, further reading and wrap up. Inputting necessary vocabulary, information related to the topic and some grammar knowledge can help students a lot in practicing their language skills and rebuilding their structure. According to the curriculum standard, the total lesson of this term is 64 or 72 periods, so only 4 periods are used to teach each unit. Therefore, I rearrange this unit into 4 periods like this. Our students are vocational school students, who have learned English for at least 5 years, so the have a basic foundation of English. But they always have much difficulty in English. Their vocabulary is limited. The majority of the students lack confidence and are not active to participate in activities in class. As a result, I think the teacher should make the lesson more acceptable and related to their major and daily life.
