* Bill: According to the standard, prior to introducing Autonomous Maintenance on the factory floor, the sites Autonomous Maintenance Progression system must be defined. Progress in Autonomous Maintenance should be measured in each work area using the Autonomous Maintenance Step Progression Checklists. Progress through the steps should be measured as the natural teams complete self-assessment using these Checklists. The Work Area Leaders and/or Line Sponsors review and verify the Checklists, and Site Leadership and the Factory Performance Reliability Leader certify the Checklists. An example of the AM Step Progression Checklist can be found on the FPR web site on ourC under the Standards and Guidelines chapter. * Bill: The results of each step should be communicated to the work teams. Results should be posted in the work area and the status of line progression on Autonomous Maintenance should be posted on the line. Progression between steps should be celebrated to encourage the teams participation in the program. This is an example of an Autonomous Maintenance step progression wheel used to advertise the Autonomous Maintenance step progression. Posting this type of visual communication is a good way to communicate Autonomous Maintenance progress for each line.
