It also involved in the state-funded Project 985 and Project 211(the 21st Century Education Rejuvenation Action Plan of China). The history of the university dates back to 1907 when German doctor Erich Paulun established Tongji German Medical School; in 1927 became the National Tongji University, it’s one of China’s first seven National university. By 2007, Tongji University has developed into a distinctive characteristics with international influence of comprehensive and researched based fields.
