So far, the traditional detection methods, such as liquid chromatography (LC) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), had been used for pesticides detection with the advantages of high sensitivity and selectivity. However, those methods required expensive equipments and highly qualified technicians. Moreover, it couldnt satisfy the needs of real-time, rapid and portable for the food safety areas. Biosensor techniques have become one of the most promising alternative methods for pesticides detection with the capabilities of high specificity, selectivity, portability and real-time analysis, which can make up the deficiency of the traditional detection methods. The enzyme/antibody-based biosensors for pesticide detection were reviewed firstly in this paper. Secondly, the new biosensor technologies based on aptamer, microfluidic chip and molecularly imprinted polymer (NIP) were introduced in detail as well.
