In 2003 t hrough 2007, the Joint Archaeological Team of IA, CASS and other inst itut ions conduct ed excavat ions to t he w estern art of the barbican, the northern art of the w at er gat e, t he eastern art of t he barbican, the m ain gat e and the southern section of the w at er gate, w hich recovered t he w ater gat e, the barbican and it s gatew ay, the main gate, brick- aved exit at h and brick- aved ground, etc. T he excavation also uneart hed the bricks and t iles, ceramics, bronze mir- rors, coins, lass w ares, stone tablets and other artifacts of the T an to t he Yuan and Min D nast ies. g g g y T he excavations to t he northern at e of the Great Son Yan zhou Cit revealed almost t he com lete g g g y f eature of t he nort hern land at e and w ater at e of t he Yan zhou Cit in t he Southern Son D nast . g g g y g y y 扬州宋大城北门遗址位于今江苏省扬 西区和水门北段、瓮城东区、主城门和水门 州市区北部的凤凰桥街和漕( ) 河路交叉 南段等部分进行了发掘( 图二; 图版陆, 1) , 口南侧 ( 图一) , 2003 年4 月漕河路建设施 发掘面积近 6000 平方米, 清理出了北水门、 工时发现。2003 年4~ 6 月, 由中国社会科 主城门、瓮城、露道和铺砖地面等遗迹, 出土 学院考古研究所、南京博物院、扬州市文化 了唐至元明时期的砖瓦、陶瓷器、铜镜、钱 局 ( 2005 年后改为由扬州市文物考古研究 币、料器、石碑等大量遗物。其中, 北水门遗 [ 1] 所参加
