汉译英补充练习 孔子说: “年轻人在家里应该孝顺父母；出门在外应该尊敬长者； 做事应该小心信实；与人相处应该平和博爱，更要亲近仁者。 孔子说： “君子吃饭时不会吃得太饱，居住时也不会要求太舒适的地方，工作勤奋，说话谨慎，遇到有德行的人时，就向之请教来端正自己的言行。这样的人就可以称之为好学的人了。 Confucius said: “At home, a young man must treat his parents with filial duty. When he leaves home, he must respect his elders. He must be careful and faithful in doing things. When he deals with people , he must show willingness to get along with them. Furthermore, he must try to associate with the virtuous people. Confucius said: “ When a superior man eats, he does not seek to be very full ; when he lives at a house, he does not require a very comfortable one; when he works, he does diligently; when he speaks, he speaks very carefully; and when he meets a person of virtue, he learns from the person to rectify himself. Such a man is one who loves to study. 3. 曾子说: “我每天反省下面三件事：为别人出主意时是否恳切？和朋友们交往时是否真诚？老师教导我的是否研习了？” 4.孔子说： “只去学习而不去思考是没有用的； 只去思考而不去学习是危险的。” 5. 孔子说： “当我们遇到一个有贤德的人时，我们应当想如何可以和他一样。 当我们遇到一个不贤德的人时，我们反省如何不要像他一样。 3. Zeng Zi said: “ I judge myself on these three matters every day: whether I was faithful when giving advice to others; whether I was sincere when dealing with friends; and whether I practiced the teaching my master taught me?” Confucius said: “ Learning without thinking is useless,while thinking without learning is dangerous.” 5. Confucius said: “When we see a man of virtue, we should strive to be a person like him. When we see a man of no virtue, we should strive to be not a person like him.” * * *
