C ivil Engineering Departm ent, Tsinghua University, Beijing 100084, China) Abs tract: As a new type of structural form, the suspendome structure combines both benefits of a single layer retic u lated shell structure and a cabledome structure. The param eters influencing the free vibration behavior of suspen dome structure are also investigated theoretically. A ccording to the tmi e h istory analysis results, it is pointed out that the boundary condition is them ain influence factor of the seism ic behavior. The results obtained demonstrate that the partial suspendome structures show good seism ic behaviorw hen the boundary joints are only fixed in verti cal and tangential d irections. W hen the boundary conditions are the same, the supspendom e structures have the smi ilar seism ic response in d ifferent level under horizontal earthquake action and vertical earthquake action.
