ANKYLOS® Snap attachment Clinical Application and Laboratory Processing ® ANKYLOS Snap attachment Description Abutments with snap attachment serve to fix removable dentures through pre- fabricated connecting elements. As supporting elements they stabilize the position of the mucosa-supported denture, however, they still permit rotation and translation movements. Abutments with snap attachment consist of a pri- mary element which is screwed into the implant and a secondary component which has to be fixed in the denture. Indication Abutments with snap attachment are utilized during the implant-prosthetic treatment of edentulous patients. As single attachment, they provide hygienic advantages compared to primary-blocked implants. In cases where limited space is available or with jaw bones that are tape- ring off, the use of attachments has significant technical advantages com- pared to a bar construction since less space is required and tongue space is maximised.
