Based on the characteristics and related issues of childrens literature translation, this paper argues that in the translation of childrens literature, in order to achieve the meaning transfer effect at the text level, the translator needs to use the strategy of rewriting. A contrastive analysis of the source language and the target language of a specific case further supports the above point of view. Key words: translation; childrens literature; rewriting; strategy Abstract: This paper explains the role of rewriting as a strategy in translation. Based on the features and problems of the translation of childrens literature, the paper goes on to argue that in translating childrens literature, rewriting strategy needs to be adopted for better communication effects on the textual level. A comparative study of the source text and translation of a specific case proves such necessity. I. Introduction For many years, the status of childrens literature in literature has been marginalized, and the academic research on childrens literature is still relatively small. However, researchers should not neglect that childrens literature in a cultural tradition is ofte
