By 1679 there were two groups: The Tories and the Whigs. ;The Whigs;The Tories ;The Conservative Party;The Conservative Party was the oldest political party in Great Britain, evolved as the successor to the Tory Party in the 1830s. The Conservative Party is the major right-wing party in Britain It is supported by middle or up classes such as landowners, businessmen and nobles, representing the interests of the monopoly bourgeoisie and aristocracies, the people who have thing to “conserve”. ; That is why they hate the great changes in society. It supports free enterprise and is opposed to nationalization and to extending social services. Since 1965 the leader has been elected by the parliamentary party. Each year the Conservative Party holds a conference attend by representatives of local associations.; The Labor Party ;The Labor Party is a new party which was formed in 1900 by a union between the trade union and socialist groups, including Independent Labor Party which was formed in January, 1893 and the Fabian Society. It first took the name Labour Party in 1906. ;The Labor Party represents the interests of the working class as against the interests of the employers. The Labor Party is a party of moderate socialism. (anti-Communism). It is favor nationalization of key industries. Its policies are connected with those of the trade union movement.
