Windows Server 2003 breaks this traditional pattern so that more than 20 services that can run on the Windows 2000 Server default are closed or enabled to run with lower permissions. In Windows 2003, one of the two most important security features is the direct processing of IIS and Telnet servers. IIS and Telnet are not installed by default, and the two services run under two new accounts, and new accounts have less authority than normal system accounts. If malicious software endangers these two services, this innovation will directly improve the security of the server.
