To increase the denitration efficiency, ACF was NO2NO modified with H O , KMnO /NaOH and NaClO/KOH. It is 0.030.1 KMnO4/NaOH 2 2 4 found that the specific surface area and pore volume decrease NO at different degrees, while the average pore diameter increases X after modification. X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS) NO analysis indicates that all kinds of oxygenous groups on the 0 surface of the modified ACFs increase to a certain extent. The removal mechanism of NO by the modified ACFs includes the [1] (NO ) x early stage dominated by physical adsorption and the following NONO N ONO N O N O 2 2 3 2 3 2 4 stage dominated by chemical adsorption and oxidation.
