Jilin Yatai Pharmaceutical Co . , L td . , Jiutai 130500, China Abstract: The objective of this study is to summarize the studies on triterpenoid saponins of Platycodon grandfi lorum and provide new reference for further research and exp oitation. The structures of triter- penoid saponins and pharmaco ogica activities of Platycodon grandfi lorum were comprehensive y reviewed according to phy ogeny of Platycodon grandfi lorum. The study show s that as an edib e and medicina herb, P . grandfi orum is of bright deve oping prospect and worthy of being further investigated .
