Focusing on the archaeologicaldiscoveriesofthepalacecitiesoftheWeiKingdomintheThree-KingdomsPeriodthrough theNorthernWeiDynastyintheHan-WeiLuoyangCitySiteandreferringtothehistoricliteratureand archaeologicalsurveymaterials,thepapermakescomparativestudyonthemaincapitalsfromtheHanto Tang Dynasties and explores the evolution of the palace layout from the multiple-palace design in the WesternandEasternHanDynasties,viathesingle-palacedesigninthemiddleofthenorthsideofthe capitalcityoftheThree-KingdomstotheSouthernDynastiesPeriodsandthetripleenclosurewallplanning of the Northern Dynasties, and finally to the international commercial metropolis with the symmetrical planning and grid layout in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, which laid firm foundation for the future developmenttothemoreprosperousopen-stylecommercialcities.Theevolutionofthecapitallayouthas clearchronologyandthedevelopmenthascontinuityandoriginality,whichmeansthatthedesigningofthe capitalsnotonlysucceededthetraditionalcapitalsystemoftheHanstylebutalsohadinnovationstoadapt tothenewsocialsituations.Inshort,thesourceoftheSuiDaxing-TangChanganCity,theclimaxofthe capitals of this period, was the Luoyang City of the Wei Kingdom of the Three-Kingdoms Period. The researchesonthecapitallayoutsofthisperiodandtheexplorationstothesourcesofallofthecultural elementsofthemareallsignificantlymeaningfulfortheresearchesonthehistoryofthecapitalsofancient Chinaandthedevelopmentproceduresoftheancientculturesandcivilizationsoft
