Abstract : Suzhou Hope Door is connected to a w hole one by the pile oundation, big and small elliptical arches and
cables, which in luence and restrict each other under static and dynamic loads . The design theory and method o this special
type o steel structure are summarized, as well as the design recommendations or this type o structure are proposed .
