Abstract Hedonism is a philosophy slandered by human since ancient time. The ethnic idea thinks that people should have the rights to pursue the maximum happiness within their abilities, and the sense of happiness that people gain is greater than the perceived pain. In the condition of correctly looking at hedonism, it will make us healthy and beautiful in heart and enhance their own happiness by measuring and choosing deliberately the happy and sorrowful things. Once excessively indulging the short term of happiness from hedonism, people aiming at enjoying will consider themselves first and even make their happiness based on the pain of others. At the same time, it will waste a great deal of social wealth. It would lead to the reduction of manpower resource when people put comfort at the first place in their life instead of work hard. Thus, the key factor to improve our moral qualities is to correctly look at the life style under hedonism. The Picture of Dorian Gray is a masterpiece of Oscar Wilde who is a British writer. To study the hedonism represented in the work through introducing the theory of hedonism and analyzing the character of the three main roles in the article, so as to enable us to learn more about the duality of hedonism and enhance the personal moral qualities.
