Teaching Plan for Living English PartⅥ Other Situations Chapter21 At the hair salon Ⅰ. Teaching aims and demands Knowledge aims: Get the students to talk about planning for haircut and hair dressing in a barber shop and grasp the following words and phrases: comb, shampoo, barber, hairdresser, hairdryer, scissors, perm, dye, conditioner, dandruff, etc. Enable the students to practice conversation and master some useful expressions and the frequently-used sentences. Ability aims: Train and improve the students’ speaking ability. Enable the students to make dialogues while getting hair cut, and dyed between a customer and a barber/hairdresser according to the different situations. Moral aims: Realize the importance of following the rules on students’ hair styles and appearance at school. Let students understand their different hair conditions and self-evaluate if they keep healthy habits in their daily life. Ⅱ. Teaching important and difficult points How to master the words, phrases and useful expressions about having hair cut and dyed in a barber shop. How to make situation dialogue and improve the students’ speaking ability. How to direct the students to make a discussion and express their opinions clearly. Ⅲ. Teaching methods Listening_and_answer activity or watching_and_perfermance activity to help the students to practice and grasp the useful expressions. Talking and discussing method to enable the students to express themselves freely. Individual, pair work or group work to make everyone active in class. Ⅳ.
