It is a time zero measure (T=0) Reliability Reliability is the probability that a device will continue to perform its specified function over time. It deals with the time after installation(T0) Reliability is defined as the probability that a product will survive a given duration at its design or use condition. Assurance of these conditions for Intel products is determined by: -Stress testing/Model development/Prediction Use or design condition is defined as the environmental conditions (both non-operational and operational) to which a product is subjected after manufacture. Knowledge of how the product is used is necessary for making lifetime predictions based upon life and accelerated life testing. Note : There is some correlation between quality and reliability . When quality defects are removed and therefore similar problems will not cause reliability failures. Therefore to some extent high quality can equal to high reliability . * * Life Testing Is testing at the actual product operating conditions. Because there is no extrapolation, life testing results give the highest accuracy when making estimates of product reliability. It is usually considered impractical for products operated continuously and/or with long lifetimes Accelerated Life Testing Is accomplished by testing the product at conditions beyond its normal operating range to decrease time to failure using: Temperature/Relative humidity/Voltage/Flexure?
