T h is article is m ainly aim ed at investigating th e rise and decline of the tow ns trade during 14th century to 16th century. Its trade b egan to dev elop after the N orm an C onquest, although th ere are tw ists and turn s later, but no fundam ental ob stacles. In th e M idd le A ge, th e ports trade developed very fast ， entered a peak period, but by th e late 14th century eventually w ent to th e decline. The course of fall of its trade is closely related w ith the regional econom ic environm ent esp ecially the H undred Y ears W ar, external factors can b e seen from both sides on th e im pact of econom ic dev elopm ent in th e E n gland,and It also in separab le from the large background of dom estic econom ic and social.
