During GDPS Hyperswap many messages may be issued. You might have seen messages like the following while running GDPS. It used to be that the only way to delete these messages was to use the K Q command. At times the flooding messages could overwhelm system resources creating resource shortages. The worst case scenario was that the resource shortages, such as buffer shortages, could cause a system outage. Flooding messages might be caused by a looping program issuing messages or IO error messages among other reasons. MFA allows you to create a policy that will contain message flooding before buffers fill up and cause problems. MFA controls messages to all kinds of consoles, including EMCS consoles. MFA allows you to target specific messages, jobs, or started tasks. IBM provides sample programs for the exits where MFA is installed in SYS1.SAMPLIB. You can take the sample code and assemble and link it with the CNZZVMXT MFA load module. More detailed instructions for doing this are contained in the MFA Users Guide.
