T hey w ere administered imidapri 5-10 mg once dai y or benazepri 10-20 mg once dai y for six w eeks, respectiv e y .I f DBP≥90 mm Hg at the end of the third w eek, the dosage of the drug w as doub ed. Imidapri group and benazepri g roup w ere crossed over a t the end of the seventh w eek, and continued to administer imidapri o r benazepri for ano ther six w eeks.Hy potensive efficacy and occurrence of coug h w ere observed during the w ho e study period.R esults 　B ood pressure decreased significant y in bo th g roups at the stage I (befo re crossing-over)and Ⅱ (after crossing-over ), P0.01.T here w as no significant diff erence in antihyper tensive efficacy betw een the tw o g roups.T he occur rence of cough in imidapri and benazepri groups w as 14.5 %and 24.6 %at stage Ⅰ, respectiv e y .T he occur rence
