Abstract Impe er is a key component of centripeta turbine and centrifuga compressor and has very comp ex geometry.It is very
important to obtain accurate numerica resu ts by FEA (f inite e ement ana ysis)using perf ect mesh.Based on the structura feature of im-
pe er, CAGD (computer aided geometric design)w as adopted to deve op its three dimensiona parametric f eature mode ing method.
Then homeomorphism princip e and other methods as BMSw eeping (sw eeping via background mesh interpo ation)and so on were u sed to
deve op generation method of hexahedron mesh for impe er.In order to improve accuracy of numerica resu ts by FEA, some specia
mesh generation methods for fi et on the bottom of b ade and in et of f ow channe have a so been deve oped to obtain good mesh.The
mesh for a centripeta impe er of a 100 kW microturbine w as generated, it shows the mesh is perf ect and can satisfy the requirement of
FEA.
