ARTIS 2016 Advancing Research in translation and interpreting studies Narrative Theory in Translation Studies: a research symposium Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies, School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China 25-27 March 2016 SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS We are pleased to announce the second call for papers for the Advancing Research in Translation and Interpreting Studies (ARTIS) collaboration in research training event, which will be held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 25 to 27 March 2016. We have been greatly encouraged by the positive response to our first call for papers and would like to extend an opportunity to those who were unable to submit abstracts before the first deadline. This three-day teaching symposium aims to bring together, for the first time, doctoral students, postdoctoral and early career researchers from the region who are exploring new theoretical frameworks and are particularly interested in the use of social narrative theory as a tool for conducting research in the field of translation, interpreting and intercultural studies.Through lectures, workshops, critical discussions and the peer-review of presented papers by participants, the symposium will provide an unprecedented opportunity for emerging T/I scholars to intellectually and critically engage with recent and current thinking on narrative theory, its relevance and applications in the field of translation studies, and ways in which these can inform the development of sound research
