Ruth served on the library staff in the Saint Joseph Hospital Library and in C r e i g h t o n U n i v e r s i t y s Health Sciences L i b r a r y a s S e r i a l s Coordinator, for a total of 27 years. She was one of the original staff members when HSL opened in 1978. Ruth was a dedicated worker, with a wonderful sense of humor and an ever-present smile. We will miss her. The library has dedicated to Ruth’s memory the Handbook of Religion and Health, by Koenig, McCullough and Larson (Oxford University Press, 2001; BL 65.M4 K78h 2001). An appropriate memorial will also be dedicated at a later date. Im free! Dont grieve for me, for now Im free. Im following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call. I turned my back and I left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. If my parting has left a void then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah, yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you sunshine of tomorrow. My lifes been full, I savored much, good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief but dont lengthen it now with undue grief.
